Illustrator

I've used illustrator before, but never really 'got it'.  I have a new found appreciation for it having discovered the wonders of the pathfinder tool and basic shapes.  Where Photoshop can quickly become a digital mess; illustrator keeps all the lines and shapes perfectly vectored.  At college we started simple by making structures.  Here is my little Christmassy church.

Theatre Poster

The brief here was to illustrate a poster for the college's theatre department.  The production, "We Are Made Of Stardust" was about the personal stories of the cast and therefore had no singular narrative.  The only information that was given was the props that would be used, which included a suitcase and an umbrella.

I had a variety of ideas but liked the execution of this one the best.  It has a bit of mystery about it, and hopefully entices the viewer to find out what the production is about.

I am looking forward to seeing it myself.

Bob Staake

Whilst doing some research for an upcoming illustration project, I came across these great illustrations by Bob Staake. They are twisted and dark and I love them.
